Retrieved my stolen B2!

If you don't have all the vacuum stuff you either need to get it back (that will be fun) or do the duraspark swap and either find a different carb or make a metering block for the stock one.

The carbs default setting without computer input is "pig rich" and the lack of vacuum stuff could very well be messing with the advance as well. I still have my stock 2.8 dizzy so I could check but I don't think they have anything vacuum going between them and the engine... so it is up to your confused computer to make those adjustments. Its been a few years since I have even seen the thing though so I don't quite remember.

Thankfully the vacuum diagram sticker is intact that was sarcasm that things all but useless I think. It seems like there's no scale , like someone drawing you a map and the smallest line is the longest road.... also all the abbreviations vresr is my favorite. I think I'll just get 10 ft of line or so and go to town maybe I can get some cool colors hehe. Wait a second blue vac lines with blue plug wires and maybe paint my valve covers when I do valve cover gaskets. Getting away from my self here, guess we'll see what happens after another .5 years in the oil field. Oh and unless I'm blind there's no vacuum advance to the dizzy make's sense considering how you have to jump wires to eliminate the advance. And I always wanted to duraspark my b2 but I seriously can't find the right donor vehicle. I'm thinking the dual backfire is 1. Timing is too retarded causing the carb fire and 2. The richness just sending a lot of raw fuel into the exhaust causing tail pipe backfire. Thanks for the help man I'll definitely revive this thread when I get home. But first some pictures of the new and old damage I need to fix

Obviously the worst this ones gonna be tricky. This was me BTW a tree came out of nowhere and hit me. The guy took off the sticker i had covering it up though, that was at least 15 HP.

Further damage caused by the tree hopefully the gap is easily fixable with a new quarter panel.

A rebuilt dizzy is $50-100 and you can make the metering block out of a hunk of thick plastic cutting board and a few screws.
