Resurfacing a 93TM Head

Im resurfacing a set of 93TM 4.0 Heads and My program at work shows i can only remove .010 from the head. What is the reason i cant remove more??? Is it the rocker geometry?? If so could i just shim the rocker shaft up??

I had to take off .015 to get the warp out and dont want to have any problems.

No, it's the fact that more than .010, it's going to change compression and will mess with your intake manifold gasket/mating surface. If you take some of one head take the same off the other.

I think 0.015 is too much.

both heads where milled the same so the mating surfaces should be ok and 15 thou isnt going to change the compression that much to even notice a difference.

Beef I look at "warped" heads thisaway.. They weren't doing anything bad when they were on the engine.. So the "warp" didn't hurt anything!
What happens when you tork down a head is the "warp" is pulled out of the head and it seats back to straight again on the block.
When I have a head problem I just do what is needed and never do anything that isn't needed.
We are probably the only country in the world that does valve jobs and other not needed work on our vehicles.
If an engine has a burnt valve I (and most other places in the world) simply pull the head and replace the ONE valve.. Then if the seal is shakey, I replace all seals on that head... then I reinstall the head and here we go! Everything works like it should.
I see no reason to grind off the valve seats and impose abnormal wear on the heads for no reason.. If it is working I leave it alone.

it wasnt working, hence the reason it was brought in to be fixed. it blew the head gasket where the head had warped so to me that means that the warp was causing a problem.
