Restoring the old Eight Nine Stang

Looks at those sexy tail lights with those classic rims, a pair of neon sweat pants and flashy shirt and you'd be king of 1989.

That's nice looking. I dig it. I'd only like those wheels to be silver, other than that it's sexy as hell.

EDIT: Is that a red interior I spy? :bawling::temper:

No, but that's a good idea. Never thought of that before. I've been out of town for the last week and my F150 (it was sitting) took a bit for the tires to feel "right" again.

My brother keeps his '11 on jackstands all winter. He goes out every once in awhile, fires it up lets it run in gear and gets up to temp while lubing the powertrain.

He even has the "official" breathable Motorcraft cover that says Mustang and has the running horse on it. :icon_rofl:

My old Ranger sits on all four tires in a dirt floored lean too machine shed. It ain't too good to shiver like the rest of us. :icon_thumby:

Thought you might enjoy this, this a friend of mines 1980 Notch that he has owned since new, unforunately its a 2.3l auto car but it is by far the cleanest Fox I have seen (literally one rock chip in it on the decal and that is it)

I chased this baby down threw town only to find out it belongs to a friend but is kept in a garage and hardly gets driven, I'm gonna try to get more pics with a better camera

Awesome! My Grandpa bought an 80 or 81 Capri brand new with the 2.3 liter. I remember it overheating all the time, LOL.

Is somebody getting some mid-winter withdrawl? :icon_twisted:

The little scoops on the sides of the bumper, where they a special option? I saw a two eyed GT in the JY yesterday and it didn't have them.

I am. I haven't put more than 300 miles on it since I got it painted. :bawling:

They were standard on all 87-93 GT's. There were some body kits (I think Cervini made the most popular kit) that replace that panel and make it flat, but they usually go with an entire kit. They did have some cheaper kits that just replaced the side skirts and moldings, like this:

Well if you are stuck in the house thinking of ways to stretch the old girls legs and cover that new paint with bugs...

We went two years ago, it was a riot then. Barring a major medical issue like last year we are really hoping to go again this year. It was very doable in a day from here in a day (about 8 hrs) a quick look on MSN says it is about 10hrs from somewhere in SLC.

I would more suspect somebody put on a more basic cover, this one didn't have foglights or anything. It looked really blah.

I love the looks of the GT tails instead of the LX (I know weird huh?) Hopefully I can't get a decent set for my lx one day

I'll keep my eyes peeled. They come up on the local classified site all the time in the summer. I have my originals that I got painted with the car, but put my LX lights back on.

Happy anniversary to me and The Eight Nine. I've owned her for 17 years today. She's been a great car!
