Restoring the old Eight Nine Stang

The only thing you have to worry about on the 17's is the backspacing. Most of them have a backspacing that will rub on the rear quarters if you have people in the back seat(IIRC the backspacing on most 17's is the SN-95 body style) . Either that or you have to roll the lip on the quarters in a little bit. My Saleen comes factory with rolled quarters so they can fit wider tires, but with 17's mine still rub slightly with 2 adults in the back and I hit a bump or dip in the road. Mine is 5-lug so that could make a difference compared to yours, I just know I went through 3 different sets of 17's before I decided to just stick with the original 16's that are on my car now

Oh and by the way, If I could find someone to do that kind of work around here for $2500 they would have my car sitting in there shop right now. That looks awesome.

Yeah, I don't really want to get into rolling the fender lip fresh after a paint job. I've been looking at these as an alternative:

I really like the painted ones (and my budget does too), but the chrome rims would look good too.

Yeah, I am very lucky. The guys at Six Feet Under put a lot of extra time into my car that wasn't originally part of the plan. They knew I was on a budget and stuck to their quoted price and I really appreciate that.

I'd say go with the silver. The chrome seems like it would just be too much on a white car.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Glad to hear some input to back my thoughts up =).

I can try to find some pics of my 91! Could I also suggest the 93 Cobra grille insert w/ the Pony emblem. I have never liked how the 87-93 GT's had the plain boring grille w the Ford "navel" on it! The LX's did not have it too bad w/ some sembelance of an actuall "grille". You could also go w/ the 2011 5.0 badges too!:headbang: If I still had my 91:bawling::bawling: Those would be going on it!! The odmeter fraud on my 94 was taken care of. I got a refund check for the "auctual price w/ the real amount of miles on it from the dealer after my lawyer threatend to prosucute them for fraud.

When I get a house and some free time/$$ I want to find a 83-86 T-top fox. Convert it to 93 Cobra body parts and put a 03 Cobra drivetrain in it!! Make it handle like it was on rails and go smoke some Z06 Convettes!!:headbang::headbang:

I considered this, but I saw a lot of pics of the kits installed that I thought looked shoddy. It would also need to go back in for paint again if I changed it now.

Thought about this as well, but when I looked at the pics on the LRS web page, I thought they looked out of place.

This is a sweet idea. That drivetrain will be a tight squeeze.

Here's one I noticed I forgot to post yesterday

So, now it's time to gather a few things for the interior. I need some carpet. Does anyone know a good source for the pre-molded carpets? The best deal I can find is 180 for the passenger and hatch areas.

Thats about the best deal that I can find as well on carpets. You will just have to bite the bullet and buy it. Definately buy the premolded carpets, they are well worth the money IMHO. A couple years ago I helped my brother put a premolded carpet in his 82 mustang and it went in perfectly and looks fantastic.

If I could get an opinion on which tails look better, I would appreciate it. What looks best?

These GT tails:

Or these LX tails:

This is not my car, just used for reference. But this is the car I used as a template of what I want mine to look like. BTW, if this is your car and you want me to remove this pic, please let me know. I would be flattered if someone used mine as a template.

Your Mustang is a beaut...

Off topic: BTW, thanks again for your help with my electrical woes a year ago. Don't think I thanked you enough for the help.

No worries. I don't recall hearing what the fix wound up being. Seems like the last I heard you were checking the fuel pump.
