2002 ford ranger 4.0 auto switch 4x4.
Problem- I just purchased this ranger last week knowing it had problems. The 4x4 lights did not light up when turned on so I replaced the 4x4CM with one from the junk yard(so no guarantee it works properly)
Now, when I start the truck the 4x4 lights turn on, I flip switch and nothing. The switch light does not light, the switch has been replaced and wires are spiced (could be wired wrong, don't know what color wire goes where). I was thinking next step would be the motor on the transfer case. pulling it and testing its functions with a jump.
Does anyone know what color wire goes into which spot on the 4x4 switch? There are 4 wire coming out the back of switch.
Will the light only come on if the motor engages or is the switch bad?
