Im starting to think that my sway bar may be holding back the lift on my truck. Ive been wondering if removing it would give the amount of lift the springs are designed for. And if so, whats the best way of removing it?

i kind of wander that too i have skyjacker leveling coils and i think maybe the swaybar is holding them down a little but i've read a little and im gonna remove my swaybar cause i heard the truck will ride better

NO, they do not limit how tall your springs are. your front wheels are on level ground, so the swaybar is not moving any weight to either side. removing the sway bar will only allow more articulation because the sway bar puts weight on the opposite side. it will also allow the wheels to travel independently. will not hold the lift of your springs back one bit. unless you have a HUGE lift with stock size sway bar links.

He's right. But remove it anyway! Then immediately go to your nearest local dirt road and go like 60. It's great.

I'm kinda scared to remove mine lol. I assume rollover risk will be increased... But is it that bad as to really worry? Are you guys removing front and rear?

So Ben no scary times in turns without em? That is my only concern, highway bumps n stuff. I owned an altima before this and was upgrading sway bars for more handling... Never tried driving without.

well i leveled my front and i remember it being hard to reattach my end links back up compared to stock height

you have to remember that these are trucks we're driving, any time you make them taller they are going to get more tippy in high speed cornering situations. remove the sway bars and the body is able to act on the suspension in a more niticible way than before. with that being said, if you drive it like a truck without sway bars youll be fine DDing and it will wheel better, but drive it like car taking turns fast and changing lanes quickly and your asking for trouble.

Alright, ya I take it easy turning as I don't wanna wear out my tires any faster then they are already gonna. I just love this one bump on highway. I try to find ways to have fun with the pro comp 9000's.

Lol. I'll have to takem off sometime and go for a test run to see how I like it. Thanks for the tips.
