My credo
The perfect is the enemy of the good.
It looks to me like the cover locks at the bottom by two plastic strips that engage each other. I assume one would force these apart then the cover peels up off the seat. Does this sound correct?

Been forever since I had a cover off, but that sounds correct.

ok thanks. I found easiest way is use 1/8" rod as long as the seat is wide, insert it in between the locking pieces, and they come apart easily.
had broken spring, two sharp ends sticking thru the cover. Taped them generously with Gorilla tape, they should be safe. Otherwise would put out an eye (dog).
need new seat, don't think there is any way to repair broken spring. want passenger side probably, or stock replacement, but they're expensive, so, who knows when/if that ever happens.
