I pulled my bed off of my truck to change the strainers in my fuel tanks. This truck must have come from somewhere in the rust belt. I had to cut two bolt heads to remove it. I have unbolted and slid my old extended cab bed back to work on the tank pump before without issues. The current truck has two tanks so I had to completely remove the bed. It was not to bad to remove it. I had to put it back on yesterday. This job was a major pain in the ass. The lower apron got pushed in a little and I had to fix it. The driveway was not to nice on it either. I have a cheery picker but one of my friends borrowed it. How have you remove and installed you be without any help. I don't want to do this after body work is done.

I suspended mine from a tree with ratchet straps and drove my truck out from under it and vice versa for the install.

I removed mine by lifting the back end up, sliding 2 x 4s under the bed to the back of the wheels and then slid it off the back end.

Also seen my neighbor remove his by using an overhead block and tackle...

If you don't have trees but are handy with woodworking, you can build a small jack stand like the old sawhorses and lift it off using either a winch, block and tackle, or even just a rope on pulleys.

The bed weighs maybe 100 lbs and one person can usually hoist that much alone...

I've also had my niece help me lift a bed off the back of my truck when I felt the extra help would keep from using up too much strength...

I remembering seeing videos on youtube of how people have done it.

Haven't done this with a bed I deeply cared about (used technique at the yard when I was chasing bed bolts/u-clips/tank filler hoes) but it seems to work Ok.

Tilt the bed sideways and hold it up with a 2x6 prop about 4' long. The wheelwell keeps it from slipping sideways over the tire.

A few floor jacks under the bed sides and you should be able to roll out from under the bed.
