Remanufactured A4LD is in but future issues lurking ?

I had a transmission shop replaced my a4ld by a remanufactured unit from transmission depot.

I went under the vehicle and couple stuff doesnt seems right a bolt is not fully tight on the mount and there is a gap, bent metal gasket where the torque converter is.

Also I ordered a trans cooler but the mechanic said there was nothing but the transmission when it was delivered no cooler, no documentations, of course I'm learning that when I go to pickup my vehicle. But he said I have one on my radiator and if I don't tow it's fine. Today I received he documentations and trans cooler and it says that a new converter must be installed. my knowledge is limited and the mechanic never said anything about it. I feel like they just dropped the old trans and put this one, no flush or anything. transmission depot won't warranty my a4ld if I dont have proof I bought and install a new converter.... What can I do now ?

Start by asking the shop if they replaced to converter.

They didn't, they charged $500 of labor nothing else I highly doubt that include a new TC

They needed to install a new torque converter, AND the 2nd cooler

If they are charging Pro Mechanic rates, then they need to DO Pro mechanic work, period

YOU NEVER install a used torque converter on a rebuilt transmission, NEVER EVER, that's why the rebuild place wouldn't warranty it with a used torque converter

Two main reasons for new torque converter
If it was wearing out that could have caused trans failure
If trans failed then torque converter could have metal bits inside, which would be pumped into the fresh rebuilt transmission<<<this ship has sailed if they really didn't put in a new torque converter

So tell them they need to pull back trans and install a new torque converter, you should pay for the new converter but NOT for the labor

Ron pretty much explained the "I'm not sure what to say" part.

If they truly put your old converter on... it just filled your reman trans with all the junk from your blown up trans.

Any reputable repair shop should just know better and should have tried to sell you a converter.

They should have REFUSED to do the job without new torque converter, I would, and I am not even near professional level mechanic status

Are you sure the "new" transmission didn't come with a new converter? Most reman transmissions I've ever dealt with came with the converter.
