Greetings All

Which manual would you recommend for a 03 Ranger 4x4.

Thanks , Michael

i would recommend a haynes since that is what i had for my 84 b2 and it was great, it had decent electrical diagrams and repair work was real easy with it, come to think of it i have to get one for my expo

I would recommend the OEM books. They can usually be had from Amazon or Ebay.

I've found chilton or haynes both leave out that one thing you always end up needing. While a dealer service manual has it all. They are worth the price.

hey adsm since ur a tech do u know how much is a good price to pay for an oem book, since i have learned u know what ur talkin about and i haven't bought my haynes yet and would rather have something that works better on electrical diagrams

Factory Service Manual. I have one for my '97 and it's been invaluable. Especially if you have any intention of keeping your truck around for a long time.

I'm with adsm and Bob c and use nothing but the Ford shop manuals. They come either in a set or shop manual and wiring separate. Price on E-bay does vary quite a bit. Got one of those other ones once for the Jeep. Needed just a diagram of the lube points. Covered in one small paragraph - said find the grease fittings, if none are there, replace the plugs with proper fitting. Last one I bought.

For just the Electric and Vacuum book (EVTM) I would say $25 to $30. For the Workshop Manual and the PC/ED (most people on the shade-tree level don't need a PC/ED) I would say $50 to $70 depending on condition. IIRC the can be bought new from Ford but are over $150.

I think I paid $60 or $70 for my 87 manual which has been rebound with a hard cover and in near perfect condition. It was a library copy though.

+1

Sometimes to the point of being comical.

I have checked into getting regular service manuals but because the hodge-podge nature of my truck continues to get worse I don't think I could afford to maintain the collection.

TRS is better than any Haynes or Chilton I've ever used.

ADSM,

I could not find any oem manuals specific for the 2009 Mazda truck (B2300), but could find a set (Workshop Manual Vol. 1 & 2, Wiring Diagrams and PC/ED) for the 2009 Ranger. Are all of these manuals good for the Mazda?

Thanks,
Milton
