I recently picked up the camburg 5.5 kit for the front and I wanna get something going in the back but I'm not sure what. I dont wanna get a bed cage or anything. I know it's best for the travel and such but I use the bed to much. I wanna get G50 deaver springs in the back with the kartek drop hanger and the camburg shackles. here's my questions. If I go with this setup, do the kartek drop hanger prevent cutting into the bed? I've also found that 10" shocks are the biggest to fit in there so what'd be the best? fox 2.0s?

I've got the kartek drop hangers with f150 shackles (short and curved) and plenty of room under the bed. I'm running dodge durango springs which have lots of arch because they are from a spring under vehicle and I gained about 1 inch of ride hieght.

Fox 2.0's are sweet, the resivors are even sweeter. Thats said, FOA is another good option if you wanted to pinch a penny, but I don't have experience with either, hoping ot get some foa's one of these days.

unless your bed is constantly full of stuff that weighs a lot, get the deaver f31 pack. it is a lot softer and you will like it a lot better. i have the f31 pack and can still haul a lot of stuff, so don't worry about that.

as for the shock set up, how expensive do you want to go? fox makes a bolt in shock for our trucks (offroad warehouse sells them for about 135 a pair iirc) that is decent for what it is and rebuildable/revalvable if you want them stiffer/softer or they start leaking. the kartek hangers paired with an extended shackle like camburg's will mean that you do not have to cut the bed, correct.

if you want to get fancier, you can do a cantilever shock set up like I have from dixon brothers (expensive, 1500 without shocks), or BTF fabrication (1000 without shocks). both are full bolt on and with the BTF kit i am getting 14 inches of rear travel with a 10" long FOA shock. no holes in my bed, but all the awesome. there are pics of the BTF set up in my build thread 'say hi to katie' and i believe i have made a thread just for the cantilever kit on here too.

feel free to PM me with any questions you might have and i can answer them for you.

I was gonna get the G50's cuz I've read that they're "race" springs so I figured if it's 575 for the F31's and only 100 more for the racing springs I might as well get a little more performance out of em ya know. but I use my bed to haul my quad mainly but unfortunately that's not often and even then it's not that heavy. I've read that with the G50's I'll have to move the kartek hanger back so the original back holes of the hanger are now the front holes for the kartek and I'd have to drill new holes for the back. will I have to do that for the F31's? I might go with the cantilever setup eventually but I'm hoping to get the hangers, shackles, springs and shocks with my tax return.

for the shocks I figure I'd get the best I can that will fit.

Its not a race spring in the sense that its better and stronger than the f31s. The g50s are for a race truck because there stiffer and built to hold a race load 28+gal of gas 2 full size tires tools batteries in the back tube work and so on. Fhe f31s can and have been raced on very successfully there just for less weight. With out all the weight even with good valving g50 springs will be too stiff for a mostly stock truck. my advise would be to call deaver and talk to them. they will explain everything in much better words than just about anyone on this site.

Yeah I see what you guys are saying and that makes sense so I'll probably get the F31's. But do you know if I'll still have to move the hanger back? are the F31's shorter than the G50's?

The F31s are stock length, the G50s are extended length. I have them in the stock location with Camburg's shackle(flipped hanger) and Camburg's bedcage. Mine is valved too stiff right now but works well once I get going fast enough(pretty difficult with the 3.0 :annoyed: ).

I just remembered that with extended 6400 beltech shackles and my drop kartek hangers they shackes did hit the bed...fyi

are the belltechs longer than the camburgs? I thought they were the same but no one has had a problem with them hitting. where should I get the deavers from? I was looking at getting them from dixon bros for 575

dixon brothers, kartek, deaver directly, maybe offroad warehouse carries them or can get them. if you order thru offroad warehouse, call the temecula store and ask for the manager, dez. chill guy and knows his stuff.

The camburgs have to have a hole cut in the bed to clear.
