ok i got two leaks on my rear sliding window one on the top right and top left its dripping water all the way down to the floor.would this be a bad seal?and how hard is it to replace the seal and how?

I believe there are drains at the bottom, and these could be clogged. Try blowing them out with compressed air. If that doesn't work, it's not too hard to get the window and re seal it.

My rear window does the same thing, though nearly not as bad. I haven't gotten around to it yet.

The cargo light seal is a common cause of this as well. Especially if it is on both sides.

ill put in a brake light seal where can i get one of those?

LMC? The junkyard? If you remove the plastic panels on the interior there are only a few bolts holding the window in. A tube of clear silicone caulk would run you about $5.

Seems much easier than getting insurance involved.

Seems like the brake light seal would be the best place to start since it comes in both sides. At least it seems like a much better idea than breaking a window so your insurance company will pay for it.

Pretty sure that counts as fraud anyway.

Ok well i might try to replace the brake light seal.and if that doesnt work all you have to do is take the window out and put in a new seal and thats it isent it?

Pretty much.

ok well i got a few more questions does the rubber come seperate?and when i put the window back in do i have to put the window adhesive glue on it anywhere and i was looking in lmc and they got he rubber but for a std cab and mines ext cab but that really doesnt matter does it?

Am going to look for a brake light seal and replace it and if that doesnt work ill buy a seal and put it in that should fix it.

As far as I know the back of the cabs are the same.

ext cab rear window bolts in with an adhesive strip (butyl tape) and standard cab has a rubber seal.

Ok it is the window seal because i sprayed around the top of it and it started leaking it is a ext cab sliding window where can i get the right seal? is it a rubber seal for the ext cab?

Both my ext cabs 86-89 have the seal made on the window. And both my standard cabs have a removable rubber seal around the window. You can take it out and put new butyl tape on it and put it back in.Take the interior plastic out and you can see the bolts.Make sure you put the ends of the butyl (where the ends meet) tape at the top of the window.I think there is a how to video using butyl tape on you tube.
