rear shock troubles

I'm trying to replace the rear shocks on my 03 supercab XLT 2 WD. The stud on the frame that the shock attaches is rusted and the nut won't budge. Y'all have any ideas on removing the nut. A mechanic tried today but he was afraid the stud would break of if he put much more effort to remove. I don't know if he used penetrating oil or not,Any ideas /suggestions? Thanks for the support

Let it soak in penetrating fluid...and use an impact.

lol, cheater. Mine came off pretty easy with an impact after I let it soak.

soak it with penetrating oil, smack it with a small hammer several times.. then use an impact gun on its lowest setting.. works everytime
