Why isn't there a sub-forum for women and automotically
challenged men?
Well, I got my rear brake lines and seemingly two cylinders fixed by my new mechanic for $200. I still need the shackles done (you all said $100 for one would be a good deal, but I'm thinking that it would be foolish to only have one fixed, because that would put more stress on the other, right?)
Also, I need the rear drums and brakes redone. How come these are so much more expensive than the front brakes on a 2WD? I don't need a detailed explanation. Just something for dumb people. I have literally not been spending any money on anything in order to get my truck safe, but I take the risk of looking like a little old 54-year-old who has nothing better to do with her money than get her truck fixed.
Also, after getting all these repairs done, would it be safe to drive a 1994 truck nine miles on dirt roads into the boonies? Serious question. There's gas drilling going on in the here, and I have an offer to go light some water on fire
. No, a friend I made online lives out there with her elderly husband and has offered to rent a room so I could see if I like it out there. But their shackles were broken, too, and I'm kind of thinking that no matter how much repairs you do on an older vehicle, you're still welding new to old and/or rotting.
Thanks!
