The truck does fine wile under 50 MPH then starts to shake and rattle a lot till about 60-65 MPH. Any help on why and how to fix this? Thanks.

Just the usual, tire balance, alignment, tie rods, driveshaft.

Check for leftover mud on the insides of your rims, followed by tire balance and quick balljoint check (rock the tires back/forth), then grab ahold of your driveshaft and see if it shakes... If it does, that's bad. Also try the tierods if it's not one of the others. I'd bet on tire balance though

Also check out your driveshaft like mentioned and if it moves after you move it up and down or side to side change out your u-joints and use quality u joints!

It could also be the roads you drive on...if they are East-West or West-East and you are driving at that speed you need to increase it to 88 MPH for proper time travel...and make sure the Flux Capacitor is topped up before doing so...

x100+infinity, Bro. Take it to a shop ASAP. Could get......Dangerous !!!

Ok thanks guys... I had shaken a wheel weight.
And thanks for the tip on the Flux capacitor. :thefinger:

So today at work I start driving and I hear a loud noise from underneath. It was my rear driveshaft dragging on the ground. :icon_surprised:
One of the U-joint caps fell off and the joint was just sitting inside the saddle. It Finally fell out. So it sure as hell wasn't the wheel waits. :icon_idea:

And apparently the Bronco 2 driveshaft is not the same as the Ranger. So I have to just take the joint and saddle and swap them.

How bout you check those wheel bearings out too? Are you trying to reuse a ujoint?

Make sure the holes in the yoke arent all messed up. I wasted a whole axleshaft and brand new joints that way.

I checked the wheel bearings. They are in good condition.

Yes I'm reusing a U joint I pulled off of a drive shaft from an 86 Bronco II. The Yoke holes are ok enough. The truck is my DD so I just need it back on the road soon till I can buy a new joint ect.

I did my first U-joint about 7 years ago and it looked good...drove fine for about 13,000 Km...then one night on the way home I lost all forward movement...and not so good in reverse other than the hill I was on at the time...

It appears that I forgot to clean out the seat for the retainer and the whole thing just sort of shook itself loose...fortunately, the drive shaft ended up getting hooked on something and it didn't nose itself into the pavement (2 piece, eh)...

so i managed to walk to a garage that just happened to be open...and they didn't have the U-joint...I took a cab to the nearest auto parts store that had them in stock and got the first garage to install it for me... I watched closely since I knew I'd made a mistake on the first install...and I learned something that night...

It's freaking cold under your truck in the middle of winter trying to remove/install a drive shaft!

So do it right or have someone else do it who knows how to do it right...

I'd expect to be buying a new dshaft because i'd almost put money on it you're not THAT good to get a perfect install. That yoke will probably be off just enough... it took like 5kpsi and a decent hammer to get ujoints off my 94.

Just don't expect it to last more than a week. Be safe.

Thanks man, I will. I just got a new Spicer u-joint on it so it should be fine for awhile.
