I have an 86 ext ranger. I have been looking at the lift kits etc on the web and they don't do alot for the rear end. I have the typical rear end sag so I need new springs. Why put new springs on then use blocks for the lift. Would it not be better to buy new re-arched springs in the lift that I want anyway? Would I get more travel with a re-arched spring? I want enough lift to run bigger tires but travel is much more important to me? I am noy looking for go fast parts. I want it to be done correctly so I can drive way out in bfe and make it home.

Not that I've lifted a Ranger, but I did lift my full size Jeep Grand Wagoneer with 4' lifted springs.I don't like the lift blocks.Sure, they are cheaper, but add leverage to differential when "pounding" and wheelin.Especially if you're driving to bfe on top of rough play when you get there AND wanting to drive home, you're much better off w/a kit-all springs.

I have looked all over the web and have not found anyone who does this for our trucks? Does anybody else have leaf springs to lift their truck without doing a ton of mods?

you could do deavers but those are pricey, add-a-leafs might work, on ORR someone put in sport trac leaves, that could lift a stock ranger 4" or if its weighted down in the back it would be a little less.
sport-trac leaf swap

Is there not something in between? Crappy lift blocks or 800 dollar leafs? I have seen other leaf swaps using exploader leafs too?

ya, springs from an exploder would work, they have slightly less built springs, with less arch than the sport tracs leafs. but other than that theyd fit.

You could also go to a spring shop and tell them what you want. They should be able to quote you a price right there.

Yea, they could make a main leaf with a little extra arch & reversed eyes on each end for cheap, then just stack some good leafs under the main leaf until ur happy:headbang: (or bust a few $100 bills and buy the kit:D

i would be careful, sport trac stock leaves will lift the ranger a good 3". so those say they would be about 4" lift for a sporttrac, which might be way to high for the ranger.
