Anyone running them? They make some pretty bold claims!

I read somewhere that a D60 was only rated for 5,500 ft lbs for shock load. They almost made it to 8k ft lbs on their chart!

As much as I'd like to not run CV joints, this would be way cheaper than a legit d60 swap.

Do these numbers seem accurate? Anyone not like them for any reason?

If I had the money, I'd buy them in a heartbeat.

Why dont you like Cvs. The are smoother then U-joints. RCV obviously make them strong enough. Wheres the problem?

You could build a BEEF D60 for the cost of rcv's in an inferior axle

By "BEEF D60" you mean how big and heavy they are compared to a D44?

Even if the shafts are the same strength it the rest of the axle wont hold up. Ball joints break, housings twist or bend and gears strip and break. Lockers aren't strong enough

Oh, its not a real problem with CV's. Its just that the "ujoint" area in my brain is close to the "tough awesome and american" area.

Sounds like I am over estimating the cost of a legit d60 build.

RCV's alone are $1995....They are pricy, but worth it...

If you can afford them and can't/don't want to change housings they are the way to go. The graph is pretty much correct. They will take more torque at a 45 degree angle than what a u-joint shaft will at no angle. Like stated earlier the other parts won't be up to snuff usually.

That aint so bad. I remember the 60 price cause I was looking at getting a set, didn't take long to change my mind...

I think they are a good option for someone running a tire bigger then 35s but smaller then 40s. (By running I mean really hitting the trails hard.) The 60 is a little too big for that tire size. The stock 44 is a little to small.

When I build something, I dont want to have to go in a fix it later. I want it work and not break on me. I'd rather work on my vehicle in my garage, not on the trails.

If you already have a D44 setup and geared that isn't a bad price for upgraded shafts. Around here a D60 will set you back $1k plus the swap and gears.
