I was watching videos of Rangers and realized that I married into a Ranger family. My wife had two. One before I met her, one after. Each of her boys have owned one; and her brother has a red flair side that he recently put a new engine in. (V-6)

How many Rangers are or have been in your family?

Nobody but me in my family...

But I have owned 11 of them... I was trying to make up for their mistakes.

You're doing well. I am the only member on my side of the family to own pickup trucks. My uncle was the only extended family to own one and he built them for a living.

I have one and my nephew has one. That's it.

My grandparents bought a new one in 84 2.8L V6 and automatic...they pulled a 14 foot travel trailer all over the country with it until 89 when they bought a larger trailer and thus a larger truck...They continued to drive that Ranger until they gave it to me after I got my driver's license. I drove it for about 5 more years but after the local Ford dealer mucked up a bunch of stuff when they pulled the engine to reseal it, and in the process severely damaged the carburetor, it never ran right afterwards. I finally sold it and have regretted it ever sense. It was in excellent condition inside and out except for the standard cracked dash issue, no dents or scratches in it, and the interior was great too. It had a camper shell put on it the day after they bought it, and it remained on the truck till it was sold. Had a piece of carpet cut and put in the bed of it kept the noise down and acted as a bed protector. I miss that truck a lot.

My grandfather hauled my uncle's 93 Ranger home several years ago and had the transmission rebuilt in it. Drove it for another couple years and the transmission went out in it again, so he sold it.

A little over a year ago I picked up an 87 Ranger. So 3 Rangers in this family.

Both my father and uncle worked at the Ford Edison assembly plant building Rangers.

My uncle has owned 3 (‘90, ‘01, and a ‘11) and is thinking about replacing his ‘11 with a new one.

Mine (which was my Dads) and my Grandpa had an 83 diesel Ranger.

AJ

two uncles have/had one that i know of. this is my first ranger, 3 expos. quite a few of my friends owned and some still do, rangers.

I've only had one, thus far. Oldest brother has had several rangers, but they were packages on the truck or bronco he had.

@Uncle Gump A worthy opponent.

BiL has 2 Rangers, a '90 and a '98;
Niece has '01 Explorer Sport (RBV)
Wife has '02 Explorer Sport (RBV)
My son has a '99 Ranger
Youngest daughter has '07 B4000
I currently I have 3 in various states of repair(1- blown engine, 1 - blown auto and the tandem), but has noted previously, 21 have been through my hands; includes 5 of the 6 above - the BiL's '90 was his grandfather's, so only one in family which was never mine.

You win... that's an impressive list sir.

So I’m addition to the blue 00, green 00, and red 92 Rangers in my sig, I have an 89 that I got for parts. Then I have the 88 and 89 Bronco IIs, plus I scrapped two others and sold one (89 Eddie Bauer, wish I wouldn’t have done that). Also have a 97 Explorer and a 98 that’s getting scrapped.

Mom has an 02 Explorer that will be getting sold soon, dad has a 99 Ranger plus the wrecked 00, plus another 99 that was supposed to be a frame donor until a tree fell on it and an 01 that will be the new frame donor. Plus we scrapped an Explorer.

Then there’s the full size trucks... but we are the only ones in the family with RBVs. One uncle had an Explorer and maybe one other back in the day, but that’s it.

I hope to one day have a family in my ranger.

Too many to count.

First ranger in family...was uncle who owned machine shop and did proto and production work for ford

It went from factory to total performance and had a v8 installed and was the shop cruiser. It was literally one from the first shift production run...karron and co and total performance had already protoplatformed some pre pops...so they knew just what to do.

My uncles scj 429 from his wrecked torino was on the floor at his shop and they tried to get Total Performance to do that, but they declined...so it got a wheezer 82 production 5.0 off the line.

I have been hooked ever since.
