Ranger44's build: Project FAZDA

Robin has been acting a little weird towards me. He's had a rash of "things going missing", and in a way asking me if I knew anything...... Kind of insulting, personally. I understand his frustration, but why would I undermind a perfectly working parts relationship by stealing parts I'd spend "quarters" on. Know what I mean. Maybe he's smoothed over by now?

whats the worst that could happen? he tells you no...

Exactly.....

Today I'm going to replace a u-joint i know is bad. There was a catch in it when I moved it. It's not smooth. I'm hoping this is my shudder problem.

Then I need to calculate which speedo gear i really need.

Sunday fun.

till you re-gear or put new tires on....

My point is: Would the money invested be worth it to me, for what I'll use my truck for? This isn't going to be like the red monster you're building. lol

Anyhow, I'm really thinking about a set of sliders to run down my rockers. This would protect the weak sheet metal, and allow my slightly lifted truck to basically drag itself over stuff. The one thing I want to accomplish though, is I want to add them, but not take away from what ground clearance I already have.

Maybe do some rocker trimming? Or it may not even be as bad as I'm thinking and run it. But when I think about it again......the frame hangs down further regardless. :dunno:

if you can get away with not trimming the rockers you're probably better off that way, like you said, your frame will still be lower than your sliders. trimming the rockers could help out a little in those fun off camber scenarios and would give your truck a little imaginary lift. my vote is don't trim if you don't have to, you said it yourself you aren't building a monster.

Lift!

I'm looking at 3" of lift.

Extended Radius Arms

Working on a deal with plumcrazy for a set of arms and a crossmember like his.

Just have to find a set of stockers to send his way. So, once I get these jobs done, and find the RA's........:D:icon_bounceblue:

AND.....

before anybody asks why I don't make them myself.......I've calculated the cost vs. time vs. experience vs. equipment, etc, and it makes more sense just to buy these.

Then red would fall flat on it's face.......:buttkick: I've already took the steering gear out of it cause it wouldn't stop leaking. It's sitting in a bucket right now with about an inch of Type F ATF.

That aside, I went to visit the ol' yard and got a set already out for FREE. Robin must have just been in a bad mood last time we talked......

BUT.....that's when I sar it.......a Ranger w/ dual tanks. Rear tank and skid look to be in good shape. Only thing is there is a guy who wants it as a project, but robin said he'd sell the parts to me if it falls through.......I hope it falls through.....:D

i was hoping you'd let red fall flat on her face. the less stuff you rob off of her, the more stuff i'll have to scrap. with the economy the way it is right now scrapping doesnt even pay off the gas to drive to the yard. its sad that its cheaper to give something away than to sell and deliver it. anywho, good find, hopefully the deal falls through and you can get your dual tanks. whats the total capacity between the two tanks?

It'd be 20 for the front tank, 13 for a Ranger rear. 33 gal total.

If I use the plastic tank from a "narrow frame" dually F350, It'd be 20-21 gallons, so a 40-41 gal. total.
