Ranger44's build: Project FAZDA

Lock-rite Review: On-road Characteristics.

The lock-rite isn't that bad on the road, my thoughts:

1) I don't notice it on the highway....at all.
2) Does get a little herky jerky in a tight turn, but calms down if taken out of gear.
3) Sometimes audible in cab when ratcheting
4) Ratcheting operation freak people out, and make them stare....:icon_surprised: lol
5) I'd warn somebody before they drove my truck ,about it.
6). It's still drivable in town and I feel it's VERY easy to learn around the quirks.

My grade= B+

Standby for off-road performance.......:icon_bounceblue:

I figured I give a run down of specs as of right now:

Front Axle/Suspension: 95-97' Beams w/ dual piston brakes~Edelbrock IAS shocks~MooG replacement springs~1" coil spacer~Duff stainless braided brake lines~All new joints/steering/bushings (everything is spicer/MooG/Napa Premium)~and 4.10's.

*Note* the 95-97 beams ARE stronger than the previous D35 beams. The lower ball-joint area is reinforced, more welds, and just more reinforcement throughout.

Rear Axle/Suspension: Suspension is stock: 93' 4.10 7.5 with lock-rite~Monroe sensa-trac shocks~ upgraded from 9" to 10" brakes.

Shoulda saved yourself a little time and money and pulled out the chalk and a tape measure. I'm glad Rod at least offered some help for you, i guess only family gets treated like family lol

The before and after shots show huge contrast to one another, its like its not even the same truck. still thinkin about a locker up front as well?

I know, right?

I'm not going to bother with a locker up front unless I go back to a full D35. Plus I'd be hesitant anyways, the herky jerky up front drove me a little nuts at times. Much better in the rear axle, IMO.

I also noticed they only adding a 1* bushing on one side and a 0* on the other, so I have ALOT of adjustment left. I may just add more spacer up front, but that'll be a while.....you know, let the stinging stop from this last alignment.....geez....I need a

Throw some 100 watt bulbs in your Hellas if you haven't already. 6 or 7 bucks a piece at Napa and they are significantly brighter. Takes 2 seconds to do and has super results.

May just look into that. Thanks!

Not a problem, by the way they are H3 style bulbs.

so what you're saying is you like a little herky jerky in the rear? good luck breaking that to the misses.

on a more serious note, i'll be home for for a week or two here in about a month, lemme know if you need any help. with the Fazda... not satisfying your need for herky jerky in the rear.

Say what? Coming home?:shok: Let me know dates man.

Nice truck Ryan. Good platform to build off of. I just put an Aussie locker in the front of my Exploder. It does well for the minimal amount of time that I have used it.
On another note. I am making a trip to St. Joes State Park about 45 minutes south of St. Louis on the 19-21 of this month with some buddies. And when we are done riding 3 and 4 wheelers we are taking the trucks out. Let me know if you might make it.

Damn. Already scheduled to work.

the alignment was about normal price wise...but i would bet discussing ahead of time the fact it was all lubed and loose would have kept the bill down to 120 or so.

as to your mpg's...did you calibrate the speedo before and after the gear swap so you knew what the real mpg was?
