My ranger will not start since the hurricane. Just one click. Checked battery. And cables and terminations. Replaced starter. It's a 2000. Extended cab. I have checked all fuses and modules.and I believe all grounds. Now the theft light blinks fast and truck thinks it is being stolen... Please tell me what direction to go. Any help would be much appreciated.

the electrical stuff does not like salt water, how wet did it get?

did you check the battery voltage at both the posts and the cable clamps while cranking?

Disconnect the battery, wait 5 minutes, reconnect the battery to computer to reset itself.

I 2nd Pjtoledo's question - how wet did it get?

Usually when the theft light blinks the key chip or something related has gone bad.

Assuming it wasnt window deep in water.

Have you tried another key? maybe the module in your key is bad which would trigger the antitheft issues.

Assuming the truck was not underwater in the hurricane, I can't think of why that would disable the vehicle. Also check all the fuses to the PATS system/ antitheft system,.

The ring around the tumbler crapped out in mine and caused the issue. Cranked fine one time, next time it didn't. Maybe not the problem, but could be.
