ranger year question

That's weird because my other cars have the same year on door as under hood. But this ranger is just different. My 88 ranger also has 88 on door.

But what month is it on your '88? I'd be willing to bet it follows the general rule and was made prior to August 1988. My '90 Ranger was built in June, 1990.

Look at the last couple of years of the Mustang - there are 2014's already on the street, building started in Feb. My 2013 was built in June 2012.

Manufacturers have been doing the late Summer switch over since at least the mid '60's. It's just lately they are playing different. I had both a Dodge and Plymough (still have) that were titled as '49's but had the '48' body. Think then they tittled them when sold. International Scouts go by the serial number, not year.
Shane - think I still have that Stang, just haven't seen it in five months!

The tenth digit of the vin should have the year. But they the parts place should be able to use the vin number to find parts. Here use this link it is good for 82 and newer.
