Hi guys. Hoping to get a quick answer or confirmation on this.
I have a 1998 Ranger 2wd with a 4.0l automatic transmission. 5R55E
I need to replace the transmission.
I know a guy who has a 2005 5R55E automatic transmission.
Can I swap this one in?
The preliminary research I've done says that I can. It's just that the newer tranny's have extra sensors and such and to just not hook anything up to them. Hook up the stuff I took off my tranny back to the same spot. Perhaps, keep my transmission tube and dipstick and swap that over in case the newer doesn't align the same.
Anyone with experience in this care to confirm or deny? Offer any advice?
The help is greatly greatly appreciated.
