This is my first post here. I did post an intro, and I have looked around using the search function. Now I have a dumb question...

I'm going back and forth with LMC, trying to get some rocker panels for my 2007 Ranger.

As far as I know, my truck is a 2 door supercab (hidden rear doors), not a 4 door. There is a real 4 door Ranger even if they weren't sold in North America.

I bought "2 door supercab" rockers from the LMC site and when they showed up they were labelled "4 door". They are about and inch and half too long, and there is no pocket for the rear door catch. There are a few other problems too, they will take some serious modifications to work and I would end up scrapping about half of them. I went back to LMC and they tell me that their parts are correct for a 2 door supercab with no hidden rear doors; and I am incorrect, my truck is actually a 4 door. They don't sell rockers for a 4 door.

Is there a 2 door supercab with no hidden rear doors? The LMC illustration of the way the lower supercab patch panel overlaps the rocker is odd, so maybe Ford actually made them like this and I'm oblivious.

I'm getting confused, not really happy and starting to doubt my sanity (although that might be a different debate entirely).

Has anyone used the panels from LMC and made them work?

My truck is the one in the middle... only rustier and dirtier...

I can tell you that Ford did make a two door super cab, without the doors. I own two.

I the rear doors were an added option.

There is a 2 door standard cab.... 2 door super cab and a 4 door super cab. There is also a 4 door super crew... that one was never sold here.

There it is... Someone knows his Ford terminology. (y)

Thanks for the replies, I really appreciate the education. Always happy to learn.

Roert42, what year Rangers do you own?

So in my photos above, what I labelled a 4 door is actually a 4 door super crew, and what I labelled a 2 door super cab is actually a 4 door super cab? And there's a 2 door super cab with no rear doors? I am talking 3rd gen, 1998-2011.

I own an 06 2 door super cab myself.

That is correct.

This blue one is a 2011, and I also have a 2003. They look pretty similar on the outside from the 2 door to 4 door, same size.

Yup, just like a Canuk to contradict himself in the same sentence.

98-11 is Gen 4. 93-97 is Gen 3.

Hey adsm08 it's pretty obvious I don't have a great knowledge of these trucks, I'm trying to educate myself here and solve a problem I'm having. According to wikipedia Gen 4 is 2019 on, and frankly I don't care all that much. My truck is a 2007 beater, that's all I know. Thanks for your help.

Roert42, thanks for taking the time to post photos, I appreciate it.

Cool, thanks. I'm gaining some knowledge this week.

I'm going to be looking for some rims soon too. I might start another thread for that and ask more dumb newbie questions. Who wants to talk about backspacing? ;)

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned the Tech Library here on TRS.

Poke around there and many of your questions can be answered before you even ask.
