Ranger Sport Honduras official build thread

Its always good to have extra parts laying around.

yeah but that means less extra money laying around hahaha

Ruphie-colada.

nothing yet. apparently a guy was gettin a 4wd driveshaft for me, ill go check on monday.
if not there might be another one for a good price on another place.

on the lights issue.
i did a temporary fix, by soldering some tin on the burnt copper area.
the lights work now.
but the fuse keeps melting.
it wont blow like a short circuit, it just melts.

The headlight bulb connectors arent burnt.
and i havent done anything to the wiring.

Like I said on fb, replace your headlights switch. I have had 3 of them fail on 3 different fords. One of them caught fire and destroyed the dash in an 87 escort gt.

Edit: when the light switch burnt, it was at night driving and low beams stopped working, only way I could use the highs was to pull back on the turn signal. It's always a good thing to carry a fire extinguisher.

This fawcker did the same. i had to keep the lever pulled to drive it to my house.
ill replace it on monday for sure.

atleast that way ill get one that will have the small bulb working haha. mine was working but then it died.
the one that lights the 3 positions on top of it.

Ok. driveshaft related: i cant find a Damn 4wd rear driveshaft anywhere in this lame city.
so, my twisted mind came to an idea, but i wanna check if its doable.

theres an isuzu or toyota light duty truck driveshaft thats 47 inches, the lenght i need, i might just need it shortened like half inch, but it has no u joint flanges. it has the telescopic thing that i need on the 4wd shaft. but the flanges that bolts to the diferential and trans are missing.
i thought about buying it and gettin a shop to fab em up for me. but thats expensive.

Today i had a better idea: cut the dif flange with u joint form my alum shaft, and weld it on the isuzu one. thats cheapier than gettin it made and buying isuzu u joints.
but heres the thing:
I dont know if i can remove the u joint thing or flange that goes on the other side?
my shaft has this on the trans side:

so im wondering if i can do something like this, so i can use that flange to weld it on the new driveshaft.

since my moms truck wont be driven i could take that driveshaft borrowed for a couple days until i finish my custom shaft and install the 4wd trans.
i wanted to leave my 2wd shaft intact so i could sell it, but seems like ill have to sacrifice it.
i hope u get my idea, and give me a bit of light, because i have no more options.

Ok i finally got a 4wd driveshaft to use to build my own.
i just found out mine isnt aluminum, its steel.
my bros ext cab had an aluminum one. that was what had me living on a mistake haha

im planning on leaving the rear of my driveshaft untouched(axle flange)
have it cut to the lenght i need, put the telescopic thing from this one on mine, and have the machine shop build me a flange for it so i can bolt it on my trans.

i got this thing for
15USD, and i expect the whole job run for about 50 USD.
maybe 70 USD for the finished driveshaft including gas and a spray can to paint it up.

Whats the length on the 4WD stock Ranger shaft? the telescopic thing?
i hope this is long enough.

I'm not sure if what you are saying will work.

heres the plan
ill leave the rear part of my shaft as it is
then ill cut it and add the exdentable thing to it.
im taking the t case rear output flange so they make a new flange that matches it to go on the front of the driveshaft. got it now?

dont worry, it will work.
has to work
