ranger refit/build thread

early july is a great time to visit.we get people coming here from all over the world for the salmon fishing, but not too many for the wheeling.i guess it's just a little too far to go for most.

it will be about 6 years till i make it out there haha , i plan on working may to september this year and april to november the following 5 years , after that i am taking a year off to travel the country wheeling wherever i can

well, the islands should still be here then.

i'd suggest you google haida gwaii, find out a little before the big trip:icon_thumby:

i don't mean to encourage you or anything like that but several pages ago when we were speculating about possible uses for the rear output of the first transfer you were quick to dismiss the idea of flight due to weight. the Robinson R22 helicopter is capable of lifting 1500# and is powered by a 150hp 4 banger. its big brother the R44 can lift 2700# and is powered by a 240hp v6. just sayin

so with the engine taking up most of the bed, whats under the hood? have you turned it into a "trunk" of sorts?

no room there.there's thr front section of the cage goes through there and the shocks are there as well as the battery tray.

as for this thing, while i was at the frame,i added some tubes from the cage down to the front of the frame,

this helped stiffen it up substantially,as now the cage spanned from the very front of the frame to the rear.

here's a bit of what i'm talking about.
