i have a 1990 ranger xlt, im sure other people have had problems with a dryrotted or cracked filler neck hose thats leaked, but is it easiest to drop the tank or lift up the bed to repair it??
:icon_confused:

Lift the bed. I did this in Feb. (with an eBay hose) and I had no trouble with my bed bolts. 6 bolts, 3 filler neck screws, and the tail light connector and was done. Now, I have a former southern truck and didn't have any problems with the bed bolts snapping but most people seem to, so keep that in mind. But if your bolts are prone to snapping, the tank hangers most likely are just as much and the bolts are less annoying to replace.

does it leak out as you fill up the tank or after you put gas in it? i gotta gas leak and am trying to figure out where its from

ok sweet thanks, and it just leaks when i fill it up and well i dont see it leakin but i think im losin some fuel from somewhere, it could be from sloshing around or evaporation, the tank should have a butterfly valve though but i will most definately check it out tomorow.... and yea i broke one lock nut on one of the bed bolts, i can probably get a hold of it with some vice grips though.

im from canada and i dropped my tank and seen i had the same prob, also ended up needind new gas tank straps, might have to look into that....

On my truck, thats about 14yrs old, in good ole canadian winters as well... all the bed bolts came out, with a 3 foot breaker bar, except the 2 front ones snapped right ad the head... i was still able to work them out after
