"Ranger don't" list.

Make sure you dont race your buddy's mazda b3000, and forget that your only running on 3 quarts of oil (when you should have 5 quarts). Your oil guage takes a dump, and your temp guage shoots to the holy **** level. (my younger days)

Wow, this thread really blew up. Lots of cool replies, I suppose I should finally add one as well.

Don't get too used to driving a manual trans. Once you get back into an auto and go for the clutch, you'll be honking the horn with your face.

Polaris Ranger do not do well with constant use on paved roads. It is a Ranger.

Do not underestimate your truck. A stock 2.9 4x4 can pull a loaded 250 out of the mud when it gets stuck.

you know those big "bumps" that are on logging roads to prevent erosion?

don't jump them if you don't know what is (or isn't) on the other side....

back in high school, the rear hatch was the "butt" of many jokes ("hey, why is your rear end so red? hahahahah)

some will get that, others may not, but i figured i would throw it in anyways

Do not back up in a harvested cornfield in a stock 2.3 2wd........... a stalk can and will make your serpentine belt jump off track (and you'll be chasing those same cows on foot)

Never start your truck after a body lift without checking the AC line... it's 160 dollars don't kid yourself, you must have ac.

Just because your auto is on the floor doesn't meen you can shift it like an auto all the time.... it will lay down (my hs ride, 88 2wd extended cab)

Never back your truck all but the front tires into water just to impress a girl.... you will fill lots of stuff with water and have electrical issues.

and last but not least
Never ever have a three way inside a ranger cab.... somebodies getting a shifter in the @$$ I don't care who you are!!!!

Don't let a friend or relative load a quad bigger than the box of your truck. It can and WILL go through your rear window if the operator is a moron, causing a year's worth of stockpiled stickers and fresh tint job to go down the tubes...

Hello

Don't let your kids play "gas station" with it. I went to go see what was going on, since they were playing with my BII, and I was told that they were playing "Gas Station". Uh-huh. Did you guys check the oil? "yep, washed the windshield and put gas in it too." Gas? "yeah, from the water hose." So, I now have a "custom" drain plug in the BIIs' 23 gallon tank, thanks to the well meaningness of my children. :annoyed:

When I was 6 years old I filled up my Dads International Scout Full to the top for him. My Mom made it a mile down the road before it died. That was over 30 years ago and I'm still in shit for that one.

Agreed. :icon_thumby:

Don't underestimate the 4-bangers either. They're torquely little buggers. Remember: Torque is ammont of power. Horsepower is just how fast you get it done. A fast job is not nessesarily a good job.

I may not be able to blow you away at a stop light, but I'd be happy to help you out of a ditch!

dont put a roll up tonneau cover on the truck. you can never keep it on like it should be because yo always have a need to haul something. trash, brush, chainsaws, mountian bikes, trash that you forgot the first time...

Dont get use to the key lock in a ranger because when you borrow your dads dodge you will spend five minutes trying to get the damn key out.
