"Ranger don't" list.

Don't tell your buddy you can beat their brand new Tundra in a tug of war....it at least didnt work for me, haha

(These mainly apply to Rangers, but one or two may be BII specific.)

Don't let your uneducated friend help you bleed a clutch.
You may place the DOT3 RIGHT NEXT TO THE RESERVOIR and he/she will still walk over to the other side of the truck and grab ATF....

Still trying to fix this issue.

Just because you have 4WD doesn't mean 100% grip in snow all the time.
Tried to drift a corner and ended up facing a fire hydrant.
Didn't hit it, thank God.

Don't install a large stereo system unless you have the money to fix broken stuff.
(Rear dome light, passenger side door latch, rear view mirror.)

If you are a bigger guy, don't lean over you drivers seat trying to fiddle with something in the back, those recliner bars only bear so much weight before they snap and you have to drive around with a gangster lean until you get a new one.

Don't head to a field which you think is dry in 2WD and you see what appears to be a small amount of mud. You'll get stuck and have to get out of the car in what has to be 80 Billion feet of mud to lock your hubs.

Don't use an FM146 transmission.

That's all for now.

that aint no bull! since my 89 was dead my last 2 exploders have lost the motors :shok:

:icon_rofl: ive never killed one. i based that off of what i think would happen.
oh and thanks for quoting me.:yahoo:

dont, EVER let anyone make you belive a ranger is worthless. my friends have been trying to get me to give up on it, but i wont give up on my (currently sleeping) 83 farm truck

Don't dive 5 miles into the bush to have a "good time" with your girlfriend. Your timing belt WILL lose teeth when you try to start your truck when you're done. The mosquitoes WILL find their way up your girlfriends dress on the walk back home to get a buddy to tow you...and your girlfriend WILL BE PISSED!!!

EDIT: You WILL break the crankshaft speed sensor in tiny pieces while attempting to replace the timing belt(don't ask)

Don't EVER mistake the bleeder valve on the manual transmission for a grease nipple. You will NEVER get all the grease out. (this happened to a friend of mine)

Don't do doughnuts in a snow covered parking lot. You WILL wrap the truck around a light post. (same truck as above...different friend)

Don't work on your carburated ranger while it's running. You WILL drop a nut in the carb and you WILL find said nut welded to the top of the piston. (same truck and friend as the last one)

Just don't do them near light poles :D

Mine's a B2 but same thing right? :P

1. Don't teach girlfriends (EX) how to drive stick.
They like to snap custom drive shafts, cheat on you, and not pay you back for another custom one to be built.

2. Don't get caught up in a turbo diesel's random road rage on the highway.
You go rallying in the median and get the finger for being the only other car on the road. :icon_confused:

3. Don't let friends peer pressure you into hot boxing the submarine.
You'll roll it into the basement of an unfinished house and let all the smoke out. :sexe:

4. Don't let your roommates take the b2 out for the night.
It comes home with a fried and slipping clutch, busted stick shift, and two blown subwoofers.

5. Don't do donuts in an empty dirt parking lot 30 minutes outside of a middle-of-nowhere-mountain-college-town.
You get 3 crown vics, a felony ticket, 4 court dates, and have to defend yourself because your lawyer doesn’t want to make the 7 hour trip. :shok:
But I got it dropped with no charges :icon_bounceblue:!

6. Don't go to a private property trail with no indication of trespassing.
You get innocent 16 year olds lookin down the barrel of a shotgun

Don't put the bed of your ranger on a Tacoma, it just looks funny.

You can however put a step side bed on an S-10 and make a StRanger, at least those bodies are the same width.

Don't go to take apart the rear axle and think that the diff. shaft lock bolt will come out in one piece. More than likely it won't

So as inspired by mn_smokeater's post on Doorgunner's '36 Ranger build thread...

This is the "Ranger don't" thread

Now between all of us I bet we can come up with tons of things that are a bad idea to do with a ranger...mostly because we've done them all. Then there's other ones you just shouldn't do, like letting the wife drive.

So lets hear it, what's your "Ranger don't"

The other day a drunk drove his 2002 Ranger 4x4 into Lake Monroe in Sanford Florida. I would say that was not a nice thing to do with a Ranger.

DO NOT let your best friend drive your ranger down a windy mountain road in the snow with a cliff on one side.

Especially when he has never driven in the snow before. And he's used to having an automatic and no power steering.

"Oh corner coming up, going to fast. Put the clutch in, hit the brakes and over-correct three times!

First time in my life that I was hoping to get my truck wrapped around a tree. Managed to get one tire over the cliff... almost got the second rear one too. Wasn't looking forward to that drop.

Last time I let anyone else drive my truck.

Don't put stacks on it. It's retarded and doing so makes you retarded.

i have never had a problem with them :dunno:
