Hey guys, Ive been a huge fan of the website lately, and finally decided to join up so I could post my headaches/love of the trucks. I'm at a point now where my 2000 Ext Cab 4.0 2WD is beginning to nickle and dime me and make me question whether or not I want to jump into the 5.0 swap I've got waiting in the garage. Just spent this weekend rebuilding the passenger side rocker arm assembly (minus the pushrod seperating springs) to hopefully fix an obnoxious squeak we couldnt diagnose for months, only to start it back up and here a similar pitch squeak albeit less frequent. It just turned over 100k miles and I feel its destiny lol. Any opinions on my next course of action? Anyone know of building stock EFI 5.0s up for mild street/strip performance on a budget? I figure while my v6 has a bit of life left in it, I could slowly rebuild the Explorer motor I have so when I do put it in it'll roar. Will my 4r55e bolt up/withstand the power difference? Any and all help will do wonders! Thanks!
