so some one on craigslist is advertising a rancho 4 in lift kit with extended radius arms. he said it is not made anymore. it does not come with drop brackets. however i did just recently buy skyjacker drop brackets for 40 bucks (unused score). my questions are does this kit need a transmission bracket due to the extended radius arms? is it a good lift? will it work with the brackets i just bought? and is $165 to much for it. The kit comes with 4in springs front shocks anf the extended radius arms.

this is what it looks like

Never ran one myself but have heard that radius arms arent the strongest. But for a truck that sees 90% road and maybe 10% offroad they should hold up fine. Also it has brackets on the arms to bolt onto the frame they are about 2 inches short of needing to tie into a trans x-member. Other than that its a good enough deal id jump on it in a heartbeat man!

thank you im using this truck for camping and wheeling i have a mustang for a dd so i think i will jump on it

That looks like it's for a 2wd truck (the bolt going all the way through it.)

As for the shock going THROUGH the arm, I've never seen that either...

it came off a 93 ford ranger 4x4 i ended up picking it up for 75 bucks. all i need is a pitman arm

i found out they are 3 in springs i have 2in coil springs spacers so if thats the case ill have 3in of lift but is this a good idea?

Ya tons of people run coil spacers under their coil springs to get another 2 inches of lift. Just make sure you can still get it aligned.

I was gonna say, that is a 2.5" lift, not 4".

I had spacers under the coils of the Rancho 2.5 lift I had years ago on my truck (4.0L w/winch & dual batteries). I found there wasn't much space between the coil windings on those springs, which led to them getting coilbound before the axle actually hitting the bumpstops (this will be murder on your coil spring buckets on the frame).
If your truck is lighter (Reg Cab Shortbed and/or 4-cylinder and has no frontend accessories), you'll probably be OK with the spacers.

im thinking about getting a 4in coil and use the spacers because i also have a 1 and a half coil spacer. ill get 4in for sure and get that little more clearence. im also fabing of the extended radius beams to be a little stonger. :icon_welder:
