raising the drivetran for a flat belly?

I have a bodylift and was wandering if any one has done this? I was thinking it would also give your axle more clearance under the oil pan for a sas? Sorry if this is the wrong forum.
 
The only thing a body lift will give you is more tire clearance and some room under the hood. The oil pan and engine stay the same distance from the ground.
 
if you were to go threw all that, you might as well make a custom crossmember for the motor to sit on as well and tunnel the cab like a hummer.and rise the rest of the drive train......
 
A friend of mine did a 1" body lift on his yota then a 1" drive train and thinner crossmembers... He spends a lot of time on things that don't make a lot of difference in the end though, lol.
 
I already have the body lift and a custom front winch bumper. My thought was a new raised moter mount tranny and tranfercase crossmember doesen't look that hard to do if I was doing a sas. You would not have to worry about cutting up the floor for a tunnel you already have 3" you can move everthing up. I was thinking of any reason to possible keep the bodylift.
 
why would u want to raise it up.....the that in turn raises ur center of gravity, the body lift allows you to keep a lower COG while still havin the room in the wheel wells for tire stuffage
 
how low does a stock ranger drivetrain sit? all of my stuff is tucked above the frame with a skidplate runing from the radius arm X member all the way back to the fuel tank

[/IMG] FWIW, this is my fullsize F250, stock leaf springs under flex. the passenger side spring is against the stop and i still have 3-4 inches between the front axle and the engine crossmember. :icon_hornsup:

I'm pretty sure the only part that hangs down is the exhaust ( in spots).
 
I'd give advice saying do it....but looking at mine, everything sit's pretty high up. If you had the time and patience to do it, go for it because it can't hurt right?
