I'm swapping the radiator from my 89 2.9 Bronco 2 to one from a 94 4.0 Explorer.

My question is which hoses should I buy? Ones that fit my 89? Ones for a 94? Or universals.... which I hate.

You should be fine with stock hoses.

Replacement rad shows '89 2.9l B2 and '94 4.0l Explorer as the same part number

It depends on the lower hose connection on the radiator.

I have a 4.0 rad in my 87 Ranger, with a 4.0, using 2.9 hoses. They fit, but because the lower connection on the original rad was level with the ground and the new one is angled it does leak just a bit.

I would get the ones to fit the radiator.
