Raceranger's 4x4 Build

Since I got this thing on the trail, it’s always ran a bit hot and has overheated a couple times. It’s been getting better with every little thing I’ve done but still borderline on hot days and I’ve wanted to move the trans cooler out from in front of the radiator for a while now. Well, the other day the exhaust rubbed a hole in the hardline going to the cooler and sprayed ATF everywhere. So it finally motivated me to move it to the back under the bed, hopefully now the trans and motor will run cooler. Also added an electric pusher fan up front which seamed to help a lot, especially when running the AC. I'll add one to the trans cooler if it doesn't cool enough as well.

Custom shackles from Max at Built industries. The cheapo ones were hitting the hanger pretty bad under compression. While replacing them, I found the hangers to be cracked everywhere. Surprisingly these were in stock locally. Will likely fab some up later.

No fan on the trans cooler? Mine is mounted in the back, but that fan will still kick on at some point. I do a lot of manual shifting though as well

I have a fan for it.

Switched From 39x13.5 to 40x12.5. Soo much better.

Are those stock ranger hangers? Where were they in stock? Stealership? Looks like you did a greaseable bolt too? Nice touch. Mine are pretty worn, I would like to do a drop mount too as my rear is a little saggy. Looking for solutions.

Yes stock style ones from Dorman. Orielys had them down the street surprisingly.

There was a dude- Matt- rockranger is his username on explorer forum- who made some weld it yourself cut out of 1/4” steel on a plasma table hangers for sale. I haven’t been able to get a hold of him though.

Are the shackles sitting a little flat?

It looks like the new ones are pretty close to binding up in your springs.

Ya they’ve been clearance since that picture. But yes, they get really close.
