Do they make an adapter to install my bw1350 to r2 tranny?i thought the ford full size would fit but after more research, ppl are saying they dnt have an adapter.i have a r2 outa a 97 2wd f150 frm 4.2 v6.so can i use this tranny or am i goin to have to buy a diff one?around my area that 500.00 adapter is cheaper than a r2 with 1356 tc.hell r2 is 750.00 plus trade for last one i found for 2wd.so please tell me the adapter for ford full size works on the r2.

Ok i emailed to find out bout the adapter. Il update when they answer.
What other options do i have running r2?i need a transfer case that fits a regular cab 85 ranger.an auto trans is not an option.what the pros and cons?will 1356 or 4406 fit in reg cab?or np 205?i dnt mind building drive lines. But im not relocating my gas tank and i really dnt wanta cut my frame. Another issue i saw is when u take tailhousing off the r2 to bolt up t/c ur cross member mounts on the tranny is gone.(mine is 97 2wd)do the transfer case on 97 4wd models have the crossmember mounts?if not then using a 2wd tranny r2 for 4wd conversion wnt work.there no place to bolt a crossmember.any tips or pics of ur setup would help.

And if u do swap t/c will my stock speedometer work in 1356,4406,and np205???

I'm a 2wd drive guy, but I wouldn't dream of using an adapter to a Ranger trans part when there are bolt in options available.

There is no need for you to use an adapter for ANY ranger transmission to TC. You do need a 4wd transmission in order to use a transfer case though. Tech library has the answers you seek.

So can anyone tell me which adapter that is?its possible to convert the stock t/c and the kinda off road i do. Itl work fine.guess i still gota buy a 4x4 tranny.

You have to change the output shaft of the 2wd trans to mate to a t-case. A 4wd trans/t-case combo already assembled is the easiest way to go.

Yep, if you want to retain the 1350 TC, going to need an adapter (Advance Adapter?). Best off like just said, start with a full size trans & TC. 1356 and 4406 will require some notching or moving power train more to passenger side.
