What would yal run with r2??i have 373 gears in rearend. And aint changin em for awhile. I aint owned but one 4x4. So i dnt knw how the t/c affects the gears. Itl be on hwy as much as dirt.
The transfer case didn't effect the output of the transmission unless told to do so. The high ratio on the t/c it's putting out what the transmission would put out without it. Only change your going to get its if you put the t/c in lo range.
As much as you want a lot of this to be a bolt on, bolt up thing with keeping as much stock parts you can, it's not going to happen without a lot of $$$$ or at all.
I'm running 3.73 gears with no problems. But I am thinking of changing to 3.08s one day because off my transmission choice, np435.
I called aa adapter. Yes it can be dne for sure. But with regular cab the 1350 will most likely hit gas tank. Extended cabs could prolly use this set up. The adapter adds 4 in to the set up. So i opted to go with r2 from 97 ford f150 tranny and linkage for t/c. However my t/c will be frm an 85 bronco so i can keep my speedometer. Cable goes to t/c. The linkage frm the 97 will be slightly modified for this. I already had a 2wd r2 tranny frm 97. Output shaft and tailhousing. T/c and linkage. Then 350 for tear down and build. Im sitting bout 900 bucks on tranny with 80000 miles on er. Thes boogers was hard to find in my area. And only in pieces. No complete 4x4 set.
