Lost one of my friends tonight...

My buddy Rico, he wrecked his 1300 Busa a few hrs ago, doing 130 mph on a 30 mph road only a 1/4 mile from my house, he lost it around a turn and hit utility box. Broke his neck and died instantly....

I cant believe hes gone, im sitting her thinking theres just no way, but....

R.I.P Buddy, you will be missed

I am so sorry to hear about your friend. Its always hard losing a friend. I know what its like, and its not easy.

That is too bad, I couldn't imagin what you are are going through.

But going 100mph over the speedlimit is just asking for trouble...

Sorry to hear about your friend.

I've seen a lot of young guys end their lives on bikes like that. It's almost always speed related.

I hope his other friends that ride will learn something from it so nobody else will suffer the same fate.

i am very sorry for your loss and know all about what jim is saying. a guy i had a distant friendship with ran from the cops in cleveland on his GSXR last fall and went through a bus stop. he also died instantly. my brother is always in my prayers riding his R6 like a mad man doing wheelies and such. he is skilled, VERY skilled but shit happens. i hope his skills and luck never fail him or he learns his lesson before he meets the same ending as many just like your friend have.

Sorry about you losing a friend. Seems like you are having some bad luck with losing your truck too and all.

Now for the controversial side. I don't pity or feel for him since he was being an ass. Doing 100 mph over the speed limit is plain stupid! You want to go fast? Take it to the track. He may have been a great guy but, was also apparently stupid as hell! People like that are the ones that are causing insane insurance rates for everyone else, especially 'green' drivers. New drivers get lumped in to the same category as the idiots that have killed themselves or others recklessly. What if he had hit someone going that fast? They would be one innocent fatality and one idiot fatality.

I pray that these past few events make a permanent change to your life and can help swiften others up.

I'm sorry for your loss, my prayers and best wishes go out to his family and friends. It's always hard to lose a friend, but at least he didn't suffer in the end.

I can only hope that this will stand as a lesson and costly reminder to everyone that knew him not to speed, and to be carefull when they are not only driving a bike, but also any other vehicle.

Sorry man, Sounds like your life is on a big downslope, im sure everybody on trs is feeling for you and Ricos family.

That sucks.

I don't think we should use this as a platform to preach from. I totally understand the keep pushing it mentality. It's why I don't own a 4-wheeler and why I stopped messing with hotrods. I love that out of control rush you get riding on the edge like that. I'm not mature enough to have something powerful like that.

Happens. I lost a friend on a bike when he hit some road debris on the highway and got pitched under the trailer of an 18 wheeler. Lost another when an old lady pulled out in front of him. I was riding with a buddy and watched him cook into a corner a little too hot, swing wide and KO a car. Lived with minor injuries. Had another one on a dirt bike ride blow through a barbed wire fence. Lucky. Only a few stitches and a lot of whining. Watched another buddy drift off a high speed corner and into the weeds. Broke his back. Full recovery. I have had two accidents I don't remember (both dirt bikes) and two broken helmets as well as numerous broken bones, sprains, strains, bruises and contusions. Motorcycles are just dangerous modes of transportation. Having said all that, I don't think I'll ever be without one. Bet your buddy felt the same way. Sorry for your loss.

That would be hard news to hear for anyone. I'm so scared that I'm gonna hear news like that since pretty much all of my friends ride bikes. What I hate the most is when people buy bikes they have no business riding, one of my friends bought a GSXR600 as a first bike, and another bought a R6 as a first bike (but luckily he can't afford to ride it), and they both make fun of people (like me) who buy SENSBIBLE bikes as starters. How long had your friend been riding before he bought the second most powerfull street bike on the market?

Thanks for the support.

He only had that bike for maybe 3 months and had no bissneus going that fast anywhere let alone down a naighboorhood street. and this has really got me worried about my other freinds with bikes, this is somthing I never wanna get a call about again and It just makes me relise how luckey I got with my wreck. I couldnt imagine what it woulda been like for my family and freinds If i'd got hurt...

Im just hopeing some good comes out of it, tonight is prom night for my school, Rico was the guy that everybody knew so there all feeling it and Im just hoping they all think before they decide to drive impaird or make bad choises

Sorry to hear about your loss man... I know it's hard... I lost two of my friends a while back when their car got t-boned.

That's a terrible bit of news. I really feel for you. I've lost way too many friends to traffic accidents and or booze/other. It never gets easier for me to read about stuff like this. My heart reall goes out to you.
