questions on retrofitting factory cruise into my truck

I have been thinking about retrofitting cruise control into my truck. It isn't pre-wired for cruise. I have been looking online for some information on what I all need to do to put cruise in. I know I need the underhood harness but do I need to change the dash wiring as well? I have installed a tilt column that has cruise in it and seeing those buttons always make me want to use it. thanks for your responses and help
