I just put new rims on my truck and was unable to use the original lugnuts. The lug nuts that i need for my new rims are of a different shape. I went to Autozone and bought the only set they had...some spline drive set for around 40 bucks...just so that i could put my rims on, but they are very chinsy and cheap feeling. Anyone know of a good quality brand lug nut?

the key is NOT getting the fancy spline-drive junk, those are for ppl who spend $500+ per wheel and want the security of knowing not every joe blow can steal em. A lot of places keep a stock of them in the back just ask someone at the store

Most aftermarket wheels you need to use the spline drives as there is not room for conventional size lug nuts.

I'm using a set on my superduty for my 18's.

McGard makes regular lugnuts in addition to the locknuts that they are known for. I have two sets on order now for the wife's Taurus and my daughter's Jeep. Got 'em at Jeg's. Had them on a few vehicles before, quality stuff, guaranteed never to chip or rust.

Yep. Excellent stuff.

Ford factory chrome lugs are steel with a chromed plastic cap, which after about 5 years are on borrowed time. Last year when I got new tires for the wife's Taurus most of the caps were breaking and not in good shape so I got the cheapo Chinese crap at the tire shop. Nine months and one winter later and they're all covered in rust. The McGards should be here any day.

I've also got McGuard lug nuts on my Ranger (standard open end, might be stainless, can't recall off hand) and the spline type on my Mustang Cobra. Both sets are good lugs, very good quality.

Put the McGards on the wife's car today. McGard on the left, year-old Chinese crap on the right.

Down with Chinese products!!!

Although, Mcgaurd also sources some of their stuff from China. :(

I also have a set of McGards on my Ranger. Been on my truck for many years and they still look great. And Impacts don't seem to hurt them at all

i agree on the mcguards, ive had a set for years, still look good as new.
