PVH hub bearing replacement question.

Hello, I just joined the site after getting a used 99 super cab 4.0 5 speed 4x4 and the left front hub bearing is on its way out. I ordered a pair of aftermarket hub bearings and from all the instructions I have found the only other parts that need replaced are the o rings between the hub and knuckle and sometimes the snap ring. I got a parts diagram from ford and several parts are shown but they have very limited descriptions as to their purpose. Other than damaged or worn parts, what is commonly replaced with the hub bearings? Thanks in advance.

you can get by with replacing just the bearing.. the seals can be reused from the old hub assembly.. just make sure when you install it you coat it with a little grease that way it seals good. as far as taking it apart, there is a plastic "snap ring" inside with a metal spiral spring.. not sure what the proper name is for it.. it keeeps tension on the snap ring thats is on the axle shaft.. i take a little pick and pull that outer sprial spring off and i ground down a pair of snap ring pliars to an juse them to take the plastic piece out.. when you go to install it put the 2 pieces together and just open it up enought to slide it over the stub shaft and push it on untill it snaps in place and push on the axle shaft and make sure you can push it in. its pretty easy swap once you get into it..
