I've got a 88 Ford Thunderbird TurboCoupe A4LD automatic transmission that came with the turbo motor I got from the junkyard (turboing my ranger). It looks to have been recently rebuilt. Anyways, I've got it on ebay right now and I've got a potential buyer asking if it will go into his 1994 3.0 V6 Ranger.

Are there any real problems with doing this? What are the differences between an 88 and 94 model A4LD? I'm thinking he just has to swap bellhousings and shift linkages and that would do it. But I want to hear from the experts here before I sell it to the guy so I don't end up ripping him off.

It should work by swapping bellhousings and linkages but sell it WITHOUT a guaranty. Much to easy for him to screwup the swap and burnout the trans.

The linkage cannot be changed easily.

It is retained with a driven-in pin that hides at the bottom of one of the grooves
in the pan rail surface.
