Yea you can't leave a thread alone too long around here.... Thread drift is like a sport to us...

Ok. Gonna go check on a different ball joint press kit and get restarted.

Working in the 🌧️. Lol

My castle nut won't thread properly and when I do get it to start, the stud spins ....
I wonder if the threads are jacked cause the other new one and the old one won't thread on either.....

Threads could be messed up. If you have a small triangular file, you may be angle to clean them up. The able won't be right. But it won't hurt anything if all you're doing is cleaning up the first one or two threads. They make thread files for this and die would actually be the best tool. But I'm guessing you don't have those and would prefer not to buy them unless it's really necessary.

The steering knuckle mounts directly to the lower ball joint boot correct? It just seems odd, metal on rubber.....

The rubber isn't structural in any way the knuckle is seated on the steel of the ball joint.

Torque specs on castle nuts or anything else? I believe I am ready to put it all back together. I know the axel nut is 20 then loosen then 12 correct? Any torque specs on lower ball joint stud, tie rod end stud, pinch bolt for upper control arm, upper control arm mounts.....??

That is 20 foot-lbs
Then 12 inch-lbs

Be sure you get the units right.
I'm glad you said that. I guess I need to buy a new tool. Lol. My torque is foot pounds. BTW.....I hate it when you guys go silent. Lol
