Project Trail Authority (Official Build Thread)

No, but it sounds like my kind of place! I've been to Ravensdale many a time though. It's about five mins from my house.

The place im talking about is the BPA easement, just at the base of sugarloaf mountain...

Nope, never been there, or heard of it. Pretty cool trails? I looked it up on google earth, looks pretty cool.

Its not too bad for a 15 minute drive (for you). One of those places you can hit in an afternoon and screw around. There is everything from nice mudholes to easy simple trails, and you can also go up the hill, and there is a hell of a view out towards enumclaw.

Right on man. I'll have to go there this weekend, and get the F-150 a little dirty:headbang:

dude this needs moar pics :D

I should have everything painted up tonight on the D35. I'll make sure to post some pics. I think I'm just gona go with black, because I already have the paint.

Painted up my beams

Progress is slow at this point, due to funds, and the hollidays stealing what funds I do have. Anyway, I deep cleaned, de-greased and painted the beams. The drive shafts, and diff case are next in line. I'm going to give it all new spicer U-joints, then paint them the original ford blue, in order to not only look good, but keep the rust at bay.

Here are some pics! Sorry about the quality, it's taken with my phone...

I'll be picking up the locker this saturday, and I'll probably be able to buy the gears shortly after Christmas. The other day, the it started running really rough on idle, so I have some fixing to do! God I miss OBD2! ha ha. It should be a simple fix..

Looking pretty good so far. This makes me want to start a build thread. Maybe Saturday would be a good day to start. :icon_idea:

Thanks Matt. A build thread would be a great idea! You're truck is already pretty sweet:icon_cheers:

Yeah, I just took the whole sway bar assembly. You can have it though, I'm not going to run the sway bar. I'll be at Matts house on Saturday, if you want to swing by and pick it up. Let me know:icon_thumby:

i may do that, but i hate paying the damn toll to cross the bridge.

Well, I'm getting her all torn apart now. Tomorrow I'm going to weld some armor on to the front diff. I also decided to weld the spiders, instead of paying $260 + shipping for a locker, so that will be done tomorrow as well. Pics to come!! That should help speed up the build a little. Sometime next week, I'll have all fron't end parts painted, new U-joints, and bushings.

I also finally found the socket that doesn't seem to exist in Western Wa for the hub nuts. Ha ha, I've called 10 to 15 places, and no one knew what i was talking about. Turns out, there was a tool shop about five miles away that had it for $20.

i had the same prob, i had bad wheel bearing and drove everywhere lookin for the socket. finally found one

$4 toll vs. $70 for new extended links, that's a good deal

i know thats why im going to be there on saturday! what time are you guys going to be working?

not having to buy those may leave me enough money to afford the 33s matt has off his old truck :yahoo:
