Well, not a whole lot accomplished, been busy with other stuff, and I have a truck that John dropped off for a clutch line and slave cylinder. I have a fundraiser coming up this weekend, but I'll be back at it starting monday (a week from tomorrow), should have the 60 finished and started to hang by next week's end...

It would be badass if you could get it drivable by the 10th.

It might be drivable by then, but it won't be ready to wheel just yet. Might have to make its final debut for around the 4th of July, but a lot will be done while its down besides the axles like hydroboost, larger remote PS reservior, possibly ram assist steering...

UPDATES!!!
Ok, time for updates...Well, I spent the majority of the day on the front, and its been kicking my a$$ !! When I put the knuckle back on, it turned 4 degrees on me while I pressed it on the tube, and now I'm having a hard time pressing it back off the tube to get it aligned...I don't have a 20 ton shop press, and thats about what its going to take to remove the knuckle. So with the 60 is still the same with very little progress, so no pics of it...
The rear axle I did some research on, and it's a FF60, BOM 606705-1 has 3.55 gears and its open. I was hoping this was a 70, so for now this is staying the width it is and being installed temporarily til I get a 70 or 80. As far as I know its a 30 spline, couldn't find info on the axleshafts. I know the pumpkin is centered, and the fuel tank skidplate don't like that, so I'll be trimming the plate tomorrow. Also, I need to see if the driveshaft will work as the axle yoke is closer to the trans than the ranger/explorer 8.8...I got the FF60 perches relocated, angle set and burned on, and it's bolted in SVT along with the shocks bolted up. I still need to hook up the brakeline, E-brake cables and ABS/VSS sensor. Right now this is all I'm doing to the FF60 (I may do a gearswap later) as I need to get this rolling ASAP!! Didn't get as much progress as I had hoped, and looks like I might be spending the weekend working on it too...Here are a couple pics from today :icon_thumby:

Hmm you've got similar ideas to me!

Here is how mine sits right now.

It took that much force to get the tube out of your inner C? I pounded mine out with a hammer and drift after cutting a slit in it with the sawzall.

When I put mine back onto the tube I'm going to toss it on the BBQ for a good hour or so on high to help it expand a bit before putting it on the tube. I've read that this helps immensely. Most times you can get them on by hand and get the caster set before it cools enough that it shrinks.

This (according to "Horsepowertv" ) is also a good way to install the bearings on the pinion shaft of a rearend, but they used a hot plate.

Hmm...I notice he didn't post the picture of the nap he took in the middle of the day...good thing I have access to his photobucket :D

(Actually, he was waiting for the air compressor to catch up, but saying he took a nap sounds better.)

So your gonna look like a dually? Lol that'll be interesting... Can i ask why not just use the 60? Seems like it'd be more then strong enough or is it the same as that sterling and you cant narrow it?

The FF60 is only a 30 spline, and my front 60 is 35 stock, so right now my front axle is stronger than my rear. In order to run a 35 spline shaft in my FF60, I'd have to ream out the hubs so the shafts will fit. I'm leaving it in stock form and will locate me a 70 or 80 from a 1 ton and narrow that, this way when I'm done I can swap out the rear axles in an afternoon rather than have the truck down for a week or so while I'm building the rear, then when I'm done I'm sure someone will want a factory disc with parking brake FF60 :D As of right now the entire rim sticks out past the body on the rear axle. I can get around driving this way around town, but not on the trails, so it's replacement will be sought after soon...
Sasquatch, looks like a BJ60 you got there!! Whats your plans for it??

Yup, its from a 94 f350. I took 7" off the long side, just need to get around to putting the C back on the tube.

Will be running be running a 3 link with air shocks.

Sounds very similar to what I'm setting up...I cut 9.23" off (to give me a final wms to wms of 60", plus my 15x10 rims with only 3" BS will give me a wider track) 3 link with airshocks, I have 16's now, but I want 18's...
