Weather is pretty bad today, and I'll be on call most of today, so any work planned getting the truck picked of parts is shot today, next available day is sunday...Chad, any chance you'll want to sell me that other 205??

Well, as my luck turns out, the donor truck doesn't have the goodies I thought it did....the 205 turned out to be a 203, and the 44 high pinion front has drum brakes, the rear is a 9", and looks to have a nodular third member (only good part of the truck)...I did find that the 44 has a hydraulic single action ram steering assist on the axle, and it looks like a factory unit :icon_confused: I will see if I can graft that onto the 60 or if it would be better to use a different ram. My computer is dead slow on loading pics from the camera, so it'll take me a couple days to get em up...this week and last week my dad has needed me to help do some cleanup (Take some cars and metal to the scrapyard), so I've been busy doing that...Tomorrow the donor should be dissected of the axles and ready for the scrapper, then I plan to go see my buddy Chad and pick up a sterling (and some other goodies). Wednesday I plan to make a trip to Manchester to have a triplet of axleshafts narrowed. Then I hopefully I can get back on the 60 and the sterling so I can get them finished and get them under SVT...

I've been away from my thread a bit, so time for some updates...I got the axles pulled from the burn truck, and I also got the axles pulled from SVT since Dustin came down and picked them up while on his way to Turkey Bay. I also found out I didn't have long with what I found when I changed my oil, another reason why the axles came out so fast, Dustin came over friday morning around 11am or so, I had driven SVT into the shop that morning at 9am and had both the front and rear axles out by 1045am :icon_surprised:The engine crossmember was ripped apart, literally. It tore all but 1/4 inch of the member, right where the passenger pivot bracket bolts to. So I will be doing additional surgery when I finish prepping the 60 to go under SVT...Here are some pics :icon_thumby:

looks good. i cant remember when the 60 goes in is it going onto leafs? and whatever happened to the doubler
 
The 60 will be sitting on 16" air shocks. I wanted 18's, but I found the 16's on a great deal, so I got them for now...The doubler has been on the back burner for a while, as other priorities came up. If you remember back when I started it the doubler was not a high priority, but for a period of time I was getting a lot done on it...More than likely when the 60 goes in, so will the hydroboost, custom reservior, and the hydro ram assist...Time to buy stock in hydro hoses!!

Thanks, it's finally getting pushed to get the tons under there....Well, I forgot to mention that the Sterling axles can't be narrowed. Right after the splines the shafts neck down all the way to the flange, so if it's cut down, it can have no more than 30 or maybe 32 spline count, not the 35 it needs to be. So I will be hunting down either a FF 60 or a 70 from an early 80's ford and Narrowing that. Good news with that is my choices of lockers/spools/gears just opened up big time :icon_thumby:
