Project ST- yet another V8 swap....

On the contrair! Most TN counties have an overbundance of emissions!
Thanks to all the TN Ricks!

Actually my young grasshopper brother, the emissions are most of the eastern states cause of the power plants and other associated industries. The west side of tn is pretty much all country living :D
It's been a while since we heard from you Jay, how's things going in that small country you migrated to? Hope all is well brother :icon_thumby:

I only know of a hand full of counties in middle Tennessee that have emissions.

I do know that the bigger city counties do but in my neck of the woods such a thing would be blasphemous! LOL

Oh and thanks Rick for re sparking my interest in my EFI v8 swap in my ranger:icon_thumby:

No problem Lucas. Seems here lately I'm doing a bunch of v8 swaps. So far this year I've done three with at least two more planned. Plans to use the m90 on the st might be going out the window in favor of a bigger unit. Might be selling the m90 as a bolt on kit within the next few weeks...

Just keep me posted on that, I still have to find a tranny so I can keep my 5 speed. I got a EFI 5.0 from a 1990 Grand Marquis with a c4 so i am from the same era and i also have all the wiring and the computer but I'm itching to get it cleaned up and in the ranger. Cause my little 2.9 is starting to show its age plus I would really like the power lol

it was said on here somewhere that you could use a 5 speed and transfer case from a late 90's 150 with a 4.2 v6 cause it was the same bell housing bolt pattern as a 302 and it put the shifter's in the factory Ranger locations.

my goal is to make the 5.0 look like it was put in there from the factory (im a stickler for detail)

so i have been studying several swap threads on here and yours seem to be the most detailed with this one on the st and also the one on svt

Grand marquis engine wiring is his favorite! ROFL!
Rick contributing to TN's emissions went right over everybody's head. Probably because y'all been inhaling too much of it!

Hey crazy cajun you got a phone number anymore or your only communication capability on the 1.21 gigwatt flux capacitor 1950's thing you call a computer in your room?

Thanks for the props, like you I like a factory looking swap, not to mention its easier to diagnose if there is a problem later in its life.

Yeah, that wiring was fun! How's that mustang running BTW?

Yeah, I have been a little heavy on the skinny pedal :D

Yeah, forgot to give you my new cell number. For those that don't have it...

Mustang runs, Charles said fuel mileage sucks. I told him to take the 8.8 axle I left there with the 3.73 gearing and put it in. He's a welder, cut all the stang mounts off and weld it in. I don't know what they're doing with it.

Good to hear, except for the mileage. Maybe Charles needs to put a long bolt under the skinny pedal to help with fuel mileage :D

After going to turkey bay with John (railman) yesterday and having to drive ST on the trails to rescue John's downed truck, I felt the front suspension is pretty stiff, but today I flexed it at the house and realized just how stiff the front really is. Looks like I'm going to have to do SVT's new axles soon so i can redo the entire suspension under ST...

With the front up, you can see it doesn't stuff much, and the back tire is actually off the ground. I know undoing the swaybars will help, but the front is still way too stiff. I'm gonna see if I can soften the ride some without losing the lift...

Damn, that's louder than my Stang at idle (see below). Which series Flowmaster is it?

Project ST- yet another V8 swap....

Shane, its a single chamber flowmaster, 3". Fm called it there race muffler before they started naming them by "a series". I had two of them on my mustang, but one got misplaced somewhere along the way, so ST got the last one I had. It's only like 6 or 8 inches long :shok:
