Finally snapped some pics of my build in progress ...

My sweet $1K baby after I brought her home and threw a matching topper on the bed

Ah crap. Popped the slave at a busy 4 lane intersection. Tow driver was nice enough to drop her right back into my garage perfectly despite the nasty incline to my driveway. Doesn't drive anymore? Time to get to work on the swap.

Where'd that little 100hp NA engine go? Probably scared of the 250hp turbo engine in the corner.

After the roller cam/followers and the round tooth timing stuff comes off ... what's the price of scrap iron these days?

I pity the fool that has a multiple car garage or a pole barn. They have "space" and stuff.

... short block. Head is in the basement where it's warm.

Forged pistons from the factory ... woo woo! Took a while to get these cleaned up.

what trans will you be running? Looks like an awesome build!

Getting a reman M50D 4x4 from Zumbrota Bearing and Gear when I get my taxes back. I'm looking for low to mid 200's for power, so I think it should hold up fine.

Trans and tcase are out. Dropped the case down onto what amounts to a moving dolly in the rear and put a rope through the front vent via the tranny hole. Doesn't feel that heavy now that it's out, but everything seems heavier when it has the possibility of falling on your face.

Oh great... I'm about to put my motor back in, and now I'm thinking I need a turbo motor! I passed up an opportunity a couple years ago, had to because I was moving. Could have had a complete 88 Turbo Coupe for FREE!

id seperate the transfer case from the transmission. makes it alot easier to handle seperatly

Got the round tooth cam and aux gears off and painted with some "Old Ford Blue" engine paint from Autozone. Hitting all the hard water lines with the same stuff when I get all the rust knocked off them.

The original coolant feed line was toast when I picked everything up. A 3/8" npt elbow, 3/8" npt to 1/2" barb, and some high temp silicone hose should fix that.

I failed to find the elusive 5th bolt that holds the case to the tranny before I dropped them as a unit. Problem solved ... the d-bag at the last shop where the previous owner had the clutch done snapped one of them right at the head. I effectively had two dowels when I separated them. :pissedoff:

It's a late '70's Puch. Getting sold to someone who's waiting when I finally goto DVS and get a title written up. Cool 'ped, but it was way more fun when I was 8 years old and much lighter. I only get half of the garage with my rental agreement ... otherwise I'd have a ton more space.

You f*cked that one up good buddy. :fie:

That engine was just shy of 200hp stock, and you could have had it up to at least 300hp without alot of coin.
