Project Rust Bucket. [non-rbv]

Problem with the doors is one side doesn't close and the other side doesn't open, and I'm just going to pull the alt and have advance check it.

did you check to see if its charging? just put a battery tester on you battery when its running and if it reads 14.4 or so its fine.
also, the doors just need the catches fixed. take em apart and fix em! cmon, what kinda rednck are you?

There really is no way to get to them. I had to bash one out of the way with a hammer to get the door to close today, and for the other one I have no idea how to even get it open.

Forget the doors, just break out the windows and enter the truck nascar style.

Technically I wouldn't have to bust out windows, the one doesn't shut unless I have that bolt in there. :D

Might be too cold in winter though.

Judging by the looks of that drive shaft, it may be worth while to go through each hard and soft brake line and make sure they are not cruddy and about to pop/bust under pressure.

Pete
one can do this by stomping the brakes until a line gives out then stomping the brakes again, until one can no longer wreck them anymore.

Hard to say, I hammered on my Tempo brakes a bit before hand, but one day they just went to the floor. Rusted brake line. I ended up replacing both rear lines from the master back, as the other line that wasn't leaking was also rusting and didn't look too good. I would definitely at least look for traces of brake fluid, sometimes it can just be a tiny leak.

One thing I would never over look is the brake system. It puts your life and others at risk.

That drive shaft look pretty rotten. It looks like it bolts the same way as a Rangers does. Looks like it has bigger u-joints too.

my uncle has a wrecked nissan truck he hit a tree dead on at 50(ish) the motor is screwed but the doors and bed and maybe the frame could be saved
the tree hit in between the frame rails

Just one. I had a professional welder look at the truck and he said it's too far gone and he refuses to do any work to it for liability issues.

Now I just need to go buy a welder and do it myself..

Bringing this down off the hill now that I have the jeep sold and I'm putting it out in the jeeps spot to sell. I have no idea what to ask for it, it has 78k miles and runs great. Trans shifts fine and 4x4 is excellent. However it needs a new alternator, the body is shot, and the frame is shot. Title is clean, but I do not have a hard copy of it. It was lost in a total loss appartment fire.

I was thinking since it does have very low miles, I would sell it as parts (engine + trans + 4x4 system) for $700 dollars. The new owner could scrap the rest and make a bunch of his money back.

Any ideas? I'm starting to feel like a car dealer..

Got it started up and took it off the hill. I don't drive stick (lol..) so my dad did the driving. He ended up going almost sideways downhill because the rear tire on his side was stuck. I kept yelling for him to stop but he doesn't listen. He finally stopped when it was in the driveway, instead of on the grass so we had to spend 2 hours tearing the brake drum off. We left the guts out because it's too damn dark to do anything right now.

I'm putting it up for sale for 600. TRS discount is 450.
