Project: Moose-Knuckle

i am very happy to see this come to reality. get some measurements of the rockers and such to give an idea of the over all height of this monster.

No. Hahahah, ok.

Here's some shitty flex pics. There's room for much more flex but my drag link hit the leaf pack like I assumed. So off to the junk yard/machine shop tomorrow. Payday rules.

Sorry about the darkness/shitty pic quality (still)
I was gettin a few shots in between guitar lessons with the camera phone and it started to get dark quick. I miss summer.

**** everyone on pirate saying it wasn't gonna flex, now you need a new pit man arm and to hit the trails.

Every one on Pirate is a hater! I am really looking forward to see how this thing actually performs.

**** pirate to the max. Bunch of phanny bandits. And butt pirates.

I'm excited to get this bitch movin again. Well, more then it has.

Update:

A new steering box is needed. I spent the morning at the junk yards looking at steering designs and boxes.

I've come to the conclusion that a box off a 2wd full size ford van is my best bet. They mount on the inside of the frame, are meant for a rather steep angle coming from the firewall, and has the pitman arm facing back. This would keep the pitman arm WAYS away from the leafs. Now I could run a drop pitman arm to keep my drag link angle very low. Awesome.

35 bucks from Colorado Auto.

sounds like a pain in the ass...but worth the wait if it works.

Are you going to do high steer on this thing? Or is that coming later?

I don't think I'm going to run high steer. I fabbed a tie rod with the whole for the drag link actually further to the driver side. The drag link doesn't have to clear the passenger side leaf pack now, and running this type of box and a drop pitman arm will keep the drag link low, and I wouldn't have to **** with the knuckles.

Maybe I lost track of time or something but it seems like you blew through this SAS really fast. And only had a few small kinks to work out.

Every day I'm up at nine or so and I go and get to work. I work straight through till 3 when I have to go to work. Then I teach guitar/drums/bass till 7:30 and if there's still something to do, I continue to work. Then I go out with friends or the lady and usually get home at 3 or 4 in the morning. It takes it's toll.

It took about 4 days for the rear, and then I took some time off, and then it took about 3 weeks for the front. All total my truck has been down for a month or so. Just these little fucking kinks. I've never SASed an IFS ranger, and I know never to do it again. lol

awww come on adam. im shure you could and would do it again

**** that. Way too many man hours then I wanted to give, especially on my DD. If it were a pure project truck that would be cool but loading up junk yard shit in a station wagon is a bitch.

I got my new PS box from a 2wd 8 lug ford van. It needs some going over. It's pretty hard to turn cause of some muck. Oh well. Now it's just down to the tone ring, one shock hoop, and the ps box.
