Project Little Green Turd

Yea I was shocked when I first drove mine how well my crew cab 1 ton rides compared to my old 1 ton.

Ya. I'm in it right now on my way to Dayton. It rides great! I can't believe my old one as new one are the same make and model. The difference is night and day. The old one had a lot more get up and go with the 4.10s and the manual. The automatic is a lot smoother, but the ratios are way lower than the old one. I think first in this transmission was 2nd in the old one.

Yes 1st-5th in your auto should be about the same as 2nd-6th in a 6pd truck. I'm assuming this new truck has 3.73s?

Since I went from 4.10s to 3.55s, I actually use 1st gear now in the ol' 7.3

Edit: I definitely need to get a towing tune flashed onto my PCM now... Like 60-80rwhp

Yea I felt the same way when I did 4.10s to 3.55s in my 12v truck. Why mess with a 60hp tow tune. I run my 140 tune all the time :thefinger:

haha. But then I will need a real intake, a ceramic clutch, gauges and an intercooler. Then I will want injectors and need an upgraded HPOP. Boom, there goes $10-12k lol
Been there done that on the last truck. Trying to stay focused on the wheelin rig this time :icon_rofl:

I have no use for a diesel, but your talk of easy power gains makes me wish I bought a 7.3 lol.

Ya my truck is open 3.73s. I'm looking forward to 25 or so HP from the SPD y pipe. That's my biggest gain I think I can get... Next to custom fitting a super charger.

At least you have the knowledge to know how to do it right. And that's another reason I didn't buy a diesel. $$$$$$$$$$$$ you can spend a stupid amount on parts! And in turn, you can move the earth's axis with your awesome amount of torques.

Eh, I have no use for a DRW lol But the price was right.

However, I do enjoy being in the black, crew cab, dually, manual trans, 7.3L PSD club :icon_thumby:

Well I have now joined the CCLB club lol. I'll be honest, if the truck I bought would've been a 7.3, I probably still would've bought it. The number one selling point on this was rust free.

Yes. Its like Jeep world. Well, the JK world mostly. Parts are stupid expensive.

Hell yeah. Rust free is very important.

I want to leave this 7.3L pretty much stock. I would love to pick up a cheap reg cab, 6speed 6.0L someday and make it go real fast. I love those 6.0s

I drove an 04 in the test drive process. I liked it, but it was too pricey and still rusty. I know there was a lot of problems with the 6.0, so it definitely wouldn't be my first diesel. If I was going to get a diesel, I was going to have 1bad look at it first. I'm still diesel retarded.

Don't forget a turbo and complete fuel system lol. I'm actually shopping for injectors for my truck. I'm looking into water meth also. The list just keeps on going.

My point exactly.

You will really like the water meth injection.

So I was getting some rough idle in the Ranger and low idle when I first start it in the morning. I had to order some Amsoil ATF for Nicole's car so I figured I'd order a bottle of Amsoil's Performance Improver. I read the test results on their website and I figured it was worth a try. After running about an 1/8 tank of gas through it, the engine is noticeably smoother. So far, I'd say its worth $9.

I've put seafoam in my gas several times and never had results quite like this. Maybe it will help someone else out.
